When not out on the road or doing stock rooms, most days have a balance of phone calls to brands discussing current season sales, future ranges and sell ins as well as marketing strategies.


I will speak with retailers about any stock requirements, how sales are going and what can we do to help drive sales. There is also an element of sales analysis across our brands and territories to ensure we are doing the best job possible for our brands whilst not overselling. I am a strong believer that “Less is More”.

 

We deal with a smaller number of retailers and work with them to ensure a wider spread of our brands product ranges.

 

This gives the consumer a better choice of product in store and hopefully over time develops a trust between the consumer and retailer and retailer to us. Every day is different!

    Coming from a long and esteemed line of Naval officers, I was brought up with the attitude that if you do something, do it to the best of your ability.

    Now that I have done Everest Base Camp, 

     next on the list is to summit Mont Blanc and The Matterhorn!  I would also love to take my family to the Arctic and Africa.

JOB ROLE: EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT

Two days are never the same in my role and there is always something to do!

However one of the busiest times must be pre January as we prepare for the A/W season. Scheduling appointments for James at his four showrooms around the country is key. In between this I am responsible for pulling together the Salt & Bracken brand portfolio to showcase the brands we represent. We then have to ensure all the samples arrive on time and are then packed up ready for James' travels. I will then look after the processing of the orders and any queries taken from the appointments. I also deal with any day to day queries from retailers/brands.

  • WHAT NEW SKILL WOULD YOU LIKE TO LEARN?

    I would love to learn a language. We spend a lot of time as a family in France and my pigeon French is embarrasing! 

  • HOW DO YOU MAINTAIN A BALANCE? 

    I am very fortunate in being able to work part-time (3 days a week) which enables me to not only be involved in the day to day running of a great business, but also spend time with my family.
